Building Progress Report
"Lord what do you want to do through me to fulfill your will for our church?"
Our building project is moving forward! Back in August, we shared the disappointing
news that Solid Rock Construction, our general contractor, was in the process of
declaring bankruptcy. To the best of our knowledge, that bankruptcy is still in
process, though it has yet to be filed officially. Along with that disappointing
and discouraging news, we also shared the good news that every dime we have given
to the Building Fund is either in the building or in the bank. We also shared the
good news that we are very close to getting into the new narthex and sanctuary.
Today's good news is that our project is moving forward and our move-in date is
drawing near. Since our announcement in August, our contract with Solid Rock
Construction has been legally terminated. We are free, therefore, to move
forward with construction. Toward that end, we have worked with our architect
to gather an exhaustive list of those things which must get done to get us in.
We have also begun receiving bids from contractors for the work. Once all bids
are in, the Building Committee will hire the contractors, sign the contracts,
monitor the work, and pray like crazy.
It may not look like it right now, but our building project is moving forward!
Please keep praying, hoping, and trusting that the One who began a good work
in us will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
